Casa Que Pasa

Every once in a while Ross and I get mad cravings for burritos from Casa Que Pasa in Bellingham.

Honestly, I can't say I would have ever eaten at Casa from looks and location alone - but it is a Bellingham favorite and some of the locals simply rave about their burritos. Sure enough, Ross and I went with some camp friends the first summer we lived here, and we were convinced after the first bite.

Casa is located right downtown on Railroad across from the bus station, and is a delicious and cheap stop for all your classic Mexican foods: anything with meat, vegetables, cheese, beans, and tortillas as Ross would say.

There are two option for dining: you can either order at the counter and pick a spot, or head back into the Cantina for table and bar services. They make up a pretty solid margarita and have good happy hour specials as well.

All the tables are painted differently, and this happens to be the table Ross and I sat at this time. A lot of restaurants in the Bellingham also feature different artists' work on their walls every month.

Oh, and what you must all be wondering, what did we eat?!?!

The burrito that Casa is best know for: The Potato Burrito consisting of deep fried potatoes, pinto beans, cheese and their "potato sauce." It is absolutely to die for.

When Ross and I go out we hardly ever agree on something to split. Here, however, the jumbo is only $0.40 more the regular and plenty of burrito to satisfy both of us. That makes for an inexpensive meal out - everything is under $10!

I love to top it with this habanero mango jelly - sweet and spicy!

  1. Oh my god... yum. This reminds me of Big City Burrito in foco, ever been there!? You should ask them if their potatoes and potato sauce (SAUCE?!) are Gluten Free, if so, I'll go with you WHEN I VISIT this summer and get me a naked burrito :D

  2. They do offer flour or CORN tortillas - so you could have it clothed!!!! I have not been to Big City but I heard good things about it. My favorite place in FoCo is Avo's.

Also... I absolutely cannot wait for you to come visit this hippie heaven!
