The times, they are a Changin'

Come gather 'round people

Wherever you roam

And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.

-Bob Dylan

I've had this song stuck in my head a lot lately, for I am definitely at a point of transition in my life. It's been a humbling reminder that the only thing that will always be there in life is change.

Lately I've been thinking that I need to do a blog post, get back into it, but I'm never sure what about. I've been doing some baking and cooking, but nothing new. I think this has been tough because I don't like where we are in life right now... unemployed, pregnant, homeless... Holden just didn't work out. But hey, I have a masters degree! And I know we'll get it all figured out, God has a plan for us that we just don't see yet.

I know that I have much to be grateful for. I am blessed by this little one growing inside me. I am so thankful that my in-laws have graciously welcomed us home, cleaned out shelves and dressers and made room for us, but Ross and I are definitely pining for our own space, and pining to set up nursery for the little one who is growing way too fast already. I'm not going to be able to hide it at interviews much longer, but so far I've been able to find some good outfits.

I've got a few nibbles on job opportunities, but I'm having a tough time finding positions that directly use my degree and don't require me to be in the field all summer... not compatible with a 4th of July guess date and having a baby. I've decided I'm going to have to look for something to do for now, and celebrate the time in my life in which I get the beautiful chance to be pregnant and give birth. There is plenty of life left to find the perfect job.

So, I'm not sure what this blog is going to look like for now. I think I will start blogging more about my pregnancy so that I have my memories of it written down in a medium I know I will use, and as I explore and discover the food scene around the Twin Cities I will share that too. Tough in the middle of winter, but we'll see. If you're still with me, thanks for reading =)

Also, though I would share a few pictures from our trip from Washington to MN. We made it our "Babymoon" and had a wonderful time exploring some parks and places along the way.

  1. Todo cambia. Despite all these changes and the uncertainty ahead, take heart knowing that there is much love surrounding you - from near and from afar - no matter what happens. I look forward to seeing how your blog grow and changes with you (physically and spiritually)!

As a backup plan, can you become a mommy blogger? It seems like some of those women are pretty darn successful. I think you have what it takes. :)
